Introduction to the principles of visual narrative through various art disciplines and media in 2d, 3d, and 4d

Animation and Interactive Design Survey - 2070

This course introduces animation and interactive design through individual production and lessons in media history and theory. Using traditional and digital media to solve visual problems and exploring the process of creating motion and shape change illusion as well as the art of applying design and aesthetics for animation and game development. This course facilitates the creative and deliberate use of traditional and new media to represent thoughts, issues, and messages to various audiences and explores how animation/interactive design and digital imaging can complement experiences in multiple disciplines.

Spring Electronic Media - 3070

This course provides students with a theoretical and conceptual understanding of the field of game design and practical exposure to designing a game. Topics covered include iteration, mechanics, dynamics, flow theory, the nature of fun, game balance, and user interface design. The
primary focus is on 2D asset creation and game design documentation.

Digital 3D Animation - 3470

Design studio that develops student’s concept of digital 3D modeling as applied to animation and special effects.

Advanced Interactive Media - 4070

Advanced exploration of the interactive media design process. Emphasis on problem-seeking/problem-solving processes.
